SBS announces spring concert programming

SANBORNTON – Sant Bani School’s concert series has brought world-class performers to its Studio Theater for more than a decade, and the School is pleased to announce two concerts for the spring season.

On Friday, April 10, The Kenny Werner Trio will perform for the students during the school day and for the public at 7 p.m. Just back from an Italian tour, Kenny Werner is a dynamic pianist and composer. His prolific output of compositions, recordings and publications has long impacted audiences around the world. Kenny was awarded the 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship for his seminal work, “No Beginning No End.” The New York Times describes him as “a well-seasoned pianist who tempers fearsome technique with abundant wit.” The Village Voice calls him “an ebullient stylist … his solos start evenhandedly and become wooly rides into the darkness.”

On May 8, there will be a switch from jazz to classical with I Musicisti, a group of musicians from the Boston area who perform at venues throughout the region, presenting "Sensational Soirées" designed to cap the day for lovers of great music.

Last spring’s Delfeayo Marsalis concert at Sant Bani School was sold out. Tickets for the Kenny Werner Trio are $15 and can be reserved by calling the School at 934-4240. Learn more about Sant Bani School’s innovative K-8 program and other upcoming school events at santbani.org.
